Our values - Everyone Matters, Working Together and Making a Difference - are at the heart of all we do. We now seek a talented and highly motivated Non-Executive Director to help drive forward the next stage of the Trust’s strategic development.

With a turnover of circa £358m and a workforce of circa 5,000, RUH Bath is a vibrant organisation with a reputation for delivering high quality services and strong resource management. Our status as an NHS Foundation Trust grants both a degree of autonomy and responsibilities for managing our resources, operational plans and partnerships in order to achieve our strategic goals as a healthcare provider, major employer and developer of clinicians and clinical knowledge.

Your role will be as a Non Executive on a Unitary Board adopting sound and sustainable strategies, monitoring the operational programme and ensuring the Trust fulfils statutory and legislative responsibilities. Patient safety and care will be at the centre of your actions and consideration and you will use your professional skills and perspectives to add value to the governance and strategic development of the Trust, holding executive directors to account and offering collaborative challenge and advice.

We are actively seeking candidates who are capable of operating at board or strategic level. To maintain a balanced Board for this particular appointment, we are seeking a Non-Executive Director with a professional background or qualification in financial management, and experience of risk management and internal control.

We are particularly keen to receive expressions of interest from people who have one or more of the following attributes:

  • Experience of working in a regulated environment.
  • Coming from a Black, Asian or other minority ethnic background or identifying as having a disability.

Furthermore, we are also looking for individuals who are committed to helping the Trust develop services for the local community.

You will be a dynamic individual, living within the areas served by the hospital (BaNES, West Wiltshire and Mendip) who is progressive, ambitious and driven with a proven record of delivery and able to establish relationships across complex stakeholder landscapes. You need to be able to spare at least 2.5- 3 days per month to fulfil the duties. Remuneration is offered at a rate of £12,500 per annum. All candidates for such roles in the NHS need to be able to pass the Fit and Proper Person’s Assessment.

  • Closing date for applications is 2nd August 2020
  • Interviews will be held in September 2020
