This is a rare opportunity to lead a national body of significant scale and profile delivering real value to frontline NHS services.
NHS Property Services is a property owner and manager, advisor and service provider, helping to shape the NHS estate for the future. As a government-owned company we have one goal: to ensure the NHS makes the right property choices to enable excellent patient care.
Established in April 2013 we have one of the biggest portfolios in the UK, comprising more than 3,000 properties with 7,000 tenants. At a total value of more than £3bn, this represents about 10% of the total NHS estate. We work in partnership with NHS organisations to deliver outstanding quality across our estate, generating best value and cost efficiencies that will benefit our tenants, patients and the wider health economy. We also manage, maintain and improve the NHS properties and facilities within our portfolio, working in partnership with the sector to create safe, efficient, sustainable and modern healthcare and working environments.
As the NHS strives to transform and reshape models of care delivery in the wake of Covid-19, our role has never been more important. NHS Property Services will play a central part in influencing and supporting the future public healthcare estate and we are seeking to appoint a new Chair to lead us into this next phase of our journey.
We are seeking to appoint an individual of exceptional calibre, with a track record of leadership demonstrated in a comparably complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The new Chair must be able to engage and work collaboratively across the NHS, playing an influential role on a national stage. They must also demonstrate the capability to bring vision and ambition, working with a strong and talented board to inspire a culture of exceptional service quality and performance, at all times living and promoting the values of NHS Property Services.
