Appointment of Independent Members of the Board of Governors
The University seeks outstanding individuals, with backgrounds in business, the professions, commerce, education, and the public and voluntary sectors, and who have access to a variety of networks and connections, to join its Board of Governors as Independent Members.
The Board of Governors plays a central role in the strategic development and overall performance of the University. Membership of the Board offers a rewarding opportunity to play a key part in enhancing the University’s success and reputation regionally, nationally and internationally.
At the present time, the University is looking for two new Governors, and would be particularly interested in hearing from individuals with expertise and experience in the areas of:
- The ‘Digital’ / computing world – with the skills to offer support to the University’s ambitions in digital engagement with students and other stakeholders as we develop and modernise our ways of working in order to meet the ever-increasing expectation of digital delivery and access; ideally also with a track record of maximising returns from capital investment.
- The Medical world; with experience of administration/management within the healthcare sector; and ideally some previous contact with Higher Education.
The Board would be keen to attract new appointees who have links to the Lincolnshire/regional community; and who have an entrepreneurial background, such as experience of start-up businesses. The Board is committed to diversity in its membership and will especially welcome applications from people from under-represented groups who can contribute towards achieving a balance reflecting societal norms and values.
The role of Governor involves a time commitment in the region of one to two days a month. Independent Members are not paid, but expenses are reimbursed.
