Scope works across England and Wales to ensure that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. As a pan-disability charity Scope wants to raise expectations when it comes to disability, and to ensure that everything it does reflects this. Scope’s ambition is to increase reach significantly beyond its current direct provision of services by creating a digital community, redefining its local presence and working collaboratively with other organisations. Scope is currently developing future products and services for which digital delivery will be a key part.
As a result of recent strategic reviews, Scope is seeking to appoint three Trustees to its Board with expertise in either developing new ways of fundraising; in digital platforms and online communities; or in managing people, talent and cultural change. The appointees will be committed to the human rights of disabled people and to the mission of disabled people achieving equality, with the ability to offer good independent judgement and to contribute constructively to discussions. They will work effectively as part of a team ensuring high quality strategic oversight of all aspects of the charity’s work.
Scope wants to have a diverse and inclusive Board of Trustees and is keen to attract a diverse range of candidates, particularly those with lived experience of disability.
