WHY IS EDUCATION IMPORTANT?
Access to quality education provides a fundamental underpinning of a child's development and it follows that any barriers which compromise a child's potential to benefit from education should be removed.
The Additional Support Needs Tribunals for Scotland (ASNTS) hears appeals (references and claims) under the Education (Scotland) Act 2004 and the Equality Act 2010, in relation to school education.
The ASNTS has focused, energetic and expert legal members and we need more as we approach a period of significant change. Six new legal members who are committed to keeping the child or young person at the centre of proceedings will be needed when the ASNTS transfer into the Health and Education Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland in 2018.
if you have the motivation, skills, and are suitably qualified, then the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland invites you to apply for appointment to the First-Tier Tribunal for Scotland, Health and Education Chamber.
