This new Non-Exec position is your opportunity to play a central role in shaping the future of Corserv, a first-of-its-kind public service delivery arm created by Cornwall Council.

We are looking for a proven leader who can ensure the effectiveness of the Corserv Board in providing ownership, oversight and accountability of the Council’s Teckal companies. Your experience and abilities will be essential to ensuring the Board has the strategic capability and capacity to deliver the Council’s vision, while supporting the ongoing development of the Corserv Group.

Corserv: a first of its kind

With a combined turnover forecast to be £200M for 2016/17, Corserv is the new company established to provide strategic direction for the existing commercial trading companies created by Cornwall Council. Although other local authorities have created trading companies, no one has done it to this extent and created such an ambitious place-making delivery arm.

The Corserv Group

The Corserv companies are: CORMAC Solutions Ltd, Cornwall Airport, Cornwall Housing, Cornwall Development Company and the Nottinghamshire joint venture transformation company, Via. We aim to bring other local authorities joint ventures into the fold as Corserv develops.

What can Corserv achieve?

Corserv is an essential part of the Council’s planning for the future. It will play a key role in aligning the approach of its companies with the aim of growing the economy of Cornwall – and benefiting the lives of residents. It will also ensure they are run efficiently and commercially to create social value.

Time Commitment & Remuneration

The remuneration for the post will be subject to negotiation and dependant on the calibre and experience of the successful candidate. The estimated time requirement is in the region of 8-10 days per month.
