Trustee - Citizens Advice
Two days per month
Citizens Advice was founded in 1939. Since then, we’ve given free, independent, confidential and impartial advice, information and support to anyone who needs it. This is an extremely interesting time for the charity, and a good time to be joining the Board. We have made great progress with our plans to help more people, and have strengthened our influence in order to make things fairer. Building on our successes over these past 77 years we continue to search out better ways of doing things.
Our One Service Strategy is helping us get a deeper understanding of our clients’ current and future needs, the changing context our service will be working in, and the practical things we must do to make our advice brilliant and our campaigning influential. We are now looking for four high-calibre trustees to join our Board at this exciting time.
You will have a proven record of significant achievement in your own field, ideally within a substantial or complex organisation, and be used to operating at a strategic level, confronting challenges and driving through initiatives. The best candidates must be able to demonstrate a broad range of influencing and enabling skills, display keen judgement, and give evidence of facilitating strategic transformation. You will bring a practical understanding of quality customer service.
Of particular interest for this round of recruitment would be experience in one or more of the following areas:
Large customer interface or brand management experience
Health and social care
- Experience of living or working in Wales
- People and culture
- Creation and development of new markets or business areas
We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. We want to increase the diversity of our leadership and particularly welcome applications from women, disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people, as they are currently under represented on the Board.
How to Apply
We want to make this process as straightforward as possible. To this end, we ask that you provide the following documents:
- A covering letter that addresses and provides evidence against the essential criteria set out in the Person Specification. The covering letter provides you with the opportunity to explain your motivation, as well as highlighting how your experience and achievements fit with the requirements of the role.
- An up to date CV, that brings out the relevance of your experience.
All documentation should be emailed to CA@green-park.co.uk by no later than Tuesday, 18 April 2017 at 12:00.
If you want to know more about the role or selection process, please contact our employment agency advisors at Green Park, Kai Adams or Jaimi Keemer on the above email address, or on 020 7399 3993.
All applications will be acknowledged.
Guaranteed interview scheme
If you tell us that you are disabled, we can make reasonable adjustments at each stage of the recruitment and selection process and, if you join us, to how you work.
We offer disabled applicants the option of requesting that their application is considered under the terms of our guaranteed interview scheme. To be invited to interview under this scheme, you must show in your application that you meet the minimum criteria for the role.
If you wish to apply under the scheme please state this in your covering letter. If you are disabled, whether you are applying under the scheme or not, we will ask you to let us know if you need any adjustments at each stage of the recruitment and selection process.
All applications will be acknowledged via the domain name Charities&SocialEnterprise@green-park.co.uk. Please check filters to ensure no communication is lost.
