Scottish Ministers are looking to appoint a new Chair to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service

Scottish Ministers are looking to appoint a new Chair to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Length of Appointment
The Chair may be appointed for a period of up to 4 years. When an appointment term comes to an end, the skills required by the Board at that time will be reassessed. There is the possibility of re-appointment for a further term, subject to Ministers' requirements and subject to evidence of effective performance and satisfying the skills, knowledge and personal qualities required. Reappointments are not automatic.
The Chair will devote up to 10 days per month x 7.5 hours to performing their functions as and when required. The Chair will attend meetings of the Body regularly, and will contribute fully at these and to performing their other functions.
The SFRS will determine the frequency of its meetings, the composition of committees, and the location of its meetings. Meetings may take place at the SFRS national headquarters at Westburn Drive, Cambuslang G72 7NA. However, the SFRS may decide to hold meetings out with the Cambuslang area. The Chair should, therefore, expect to undertake some travel to meetings and events around Scotland.
The Chair will receive a fee of £430 per day. The Chair is not entitled to a pension in respect of this office and is not entitled to any gratuity, allowance or compensation when the period in office ends (whatever the reason). Remuneration will be paid through payroll and is taxable. PAYE deductions in respect of income tax and National Insurance will be made at source.
Interviews will be held on 23rd June in Edinburgh.
