Two Non-Executive Directors - Bristol Community Health CIC

non-executive directorBristol Community Health Community Interest Company (CIC) is a not-for-profit social enterprise providing over 40 different services to our local population.

The opportunity

Bristol Community Health (CIC) deliver safe, effective, high quality care from cradle to grave. The majority of our services are delivered in community settings, helping people to live life well in the comfort of their own surroundings.

The Role

We have vacancies for two Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to support our Chair and Executives.

One post is a standard NED, the second is a developmental post for someone from a Black or Minority Ethnic (BME) community looking to take the next step in their career in strategic business management.

Essential criteria

For the standard NED post, we are relatively open-minded about the specific skillset and background, although applicants should demonstrate experience which is relevant or transferable to Bristol Community Health. A background in business,informatics/ technology, HR/ workforce, health/ social care or the third sector would be an advantage. The development of close links with the local community is a key part of our Board 's work (e.g. other healthcare providers, charities, community groups, GP practices, local government and local businesses). Senior or Board level experience is essential but we also need a NED to contribute something different – a unique skillset and viewpoint - general management on its own is not enough.

The second vacancy is for a NED from a BME community who can help us to make decisions which better support the diverse communities we serve. As this is a developmental post we are looking for someone who we can help get valuable experience in a board level position, we call this role a Community NED.

For both roles, local candidates with contacts in the area would be well placed, perhaps a social entrepreneur from Bristol or its surrounding areas.

Remuneration for both roles is £7,505 per annum for a commitment of 2-3 days per month.
